The first Acura NSX has been missing from the auto scene for more than a decade, but now the sexy and stylish supercar is reportedly making a comeback long-awaited by many car enthusiasts.

That long wait is finally over as the upcoming car's specs have been revealed and Acura is set to launch a successor that's completely different from the original version.

According to a report from CNBC, the Acura NSX will carry a hybrid V-6 engine that can deliver 573 horsepower.

Most of the horsepower will be delivered by the 3.5-liter gas engine, while the rest of the power — 73hp — will originate from the batteries.

Yahoo News breaks down the important things about the 2017 Acura NSX.

The Japanese two-seat car will be a potential rival for Mercedes-AMG GT-S, Audi R8 V10, and Porsche 911 Turbo.

No official details about the car's performance have been revealed yet, but it is rumored to clock in at less than three seconds from zero to 60 miles per hour.

The body is made from both aluminum and Sheet Molding Compound (SMC), Green Car Reports noted. The chassis is mostly made from high-grade steel and aluminum.

The report also mentioned that the car has a carbon fiber floor and the also offers options of carbon fiber roof and engine cover.

Thanks to all these lightweight materials, the 2017 Acura NSX weighs 3,803 pounds.

The 2017 Acura NSX was just a concept introduced back in 2012. This year, during the Detroit Auto Show in January, the supercar was introduced in its production model.

Green Car Reports gathered that the upcoming NSX will be manufactured at Honda's new facility located in Marysville, Ohio.

The facility reportedly will hire about 100 people to focus solely on producing NSX, which is expected to arrive in showrooms in spring next year.

Pricing details and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fuel-economy stats should be revealed once release date is nearing.
