Microsoft announced the arrival of its Xbox One S 5OOGB and 1TB variants during the Gamescom 2016. The upcoming models will be made available in the U.K. by next month.

The company announced during the event in Cologne, Germany that the two models for the Xbox One S will be available by Sept. 22 and is now available for pre-orders. The 500GB version will be available for £249, while the 1TB model will come at £299. Both models will also be bundled with a free digital copy of "FIFA 17" and a one-month trial period for EA Access, TechRadar reported.

The Xbox One S is a redesigned version of the original console. The company made it more compact and decided to make it white in color. Its controller also comes with the same color scheme, but Microsoft added a texture finish to offer better grip. The main feature of the console is its ability to support 4K resolution and offer performance boost.

Additionally, it will support HDR, and with the inclusion of an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc player, it is considered one of the most capable entertainment packages available on the market.

Initially, Microsoft launched a 2TB (US$400) version of its latest console, although in limited numbers, and this has already been sold out from the retailers. GameSpot mentioned that by next week, another 1TB variant with "Madden NFL 17" will be offered, for US$350, while other 500GB (US$300) and 1TB (US$350) variants will be made available and will come with "Halo 4: Guardians" and "Halo: The Master Chief Collection."

When October arrives, the limited-edition 2TB "Gears of War 4" Xbox One S bundle will also be available. Its release will coincide with the game. This might be the best way to secure a 2TB model, although using an external hard drive for the smaller console is very convenient as well.
