Xbox One news: March system update rolls out, allows direct purchase of Xbox 360 games

Microsoft has rolled out the March update to all Xbox One consoles. This is the same update that was first installed for preview members earlier this month. The March update allows Xbox One players to now purchase Xbox 360 games directly from the Store. Several improvements were also included in the latest patch.

Major Nelson made the announcement last March 23, and aside from making purchasing games easier for Xbox One's Backward Compatibility feature, Microsoft also included a fix for its Xbox Elite Wireless Controller. The controller received a firmware update after owners complained about its thumbstick's performance when using it diagonally. The latest patch will now offer better movement accuracy for the thumbstick.

Microsoft also had a poll before and many wanted to have a Party Chat in Twitch broadcasts, which was granted by the tech giant. Xbox One gamers can now invite friends and other gamers to join a Party Chat inside the Twitch app. Additionally, the person who initiates the party chat, called the party leader, will now have the option to silence the audio of party members. The party leader can also offer invites for users using Windows 10 PCs. It is also possible for an invited player not be included in the broadcast. They won't be heard, but they can still use the chat feature to talk to other members of the Party Chat.

Lastly, the Xbox Accessories app for Windows 10 also received an added feature. Details of the Xbox controller can now be accessed through the app, which includes firmware version, status of the battery life and other details about the controller. Prior to this, information could only be accessed via the Xbox One.

IGN added that Xbox One users can now watch videos straight from the latest gaming console's activity feeds.

Microsoft is encouraging its whole community to send them feedback in order to make changes and improvements to their current line of products.
