With production in Montreal reportedly all wrapped up, the first trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse" could be coming soon. In fact, rumors suggest that the trailer could be out as early as next month.
The trailer could come alongside another move, "The Martian," which stars Matt Damon. The said film will make its theatrical debut on Oct. 2.
But before that, there is belief as well that the trailer of the upcoming X-Men movie will likely be released online first; so keep an eye out.
The upcoming installment will be the sequel to the previous X-Men film, "X-Men: Days of Future Past," which was shown in 2014. The film is set to be shown in theaters on May 27, 2016.
According to MoviePilot, the film will fast-forward into the 80s and will feature the genesis of Apocalypse. "[X-Men: Apocalypse] is about how the X-Men truly started," says its director Bryan Singer, as reported by the entertainment news outlet, which also posits that the story of the upcoming X-Men film takes place 20 years prior to the events that took place in the first movie.
The sequel is likewise expected to dig into the entry of younger mutants like Storm, Jean Grey, and Cyclops who will be played by Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, and Tye Sheridan, respectively.
The main cast will be back as well. That includes James McAvoy returning as Professor X, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult once again as the Beast, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, and Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine.
Aside from Apocalypse, a new mutant that will reportedly be introduced is Psylocke, who will be played by Olivia Munn.
Co-writer Michael Dougherty bares that while Bryan Singer made the upcoming film as realistic as possible, Apocalypse was singled out at the most complicated character to build.
"It was great because it felt like a reunion. Bryan essentially got the band back together. It was myself, Dan Harris and Simon Kinberg, and we just became this little team. It was neat to get reunited, not just with people behind the camera, but also with the characters. Writing for Mystique, or Professor X, it just felt comfortable," says Dougherty via IGN.
