WWE Survivor Series 2015 news: Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose on a collision course?

Roman Reigns has long been groomed to become World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) heavyweight champion and according to reports, that would have happened at WWE Survivor Series.

Apparently, the script would have called for Reigns to defeat Seth Rollins but as everyone knows right now, the Architect has been ruled out on account of an injury. With that unforeseen occurrence, will things change now on the Nov. 22 pay-per-view (PPV)?

Right now, the WWE is trying to make ends meet and they did so by kicking off a World Title tournament that commended on WWE RAW. The tournament calls for 16 WWE stars bracketed on two sides, trying to knock out the other until the new champ is proclaimed.

Thus far, there have been five WWE stars who have already advanced — Reigns, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, and Dean Ambrose.

The rest of the brackets include:

  • Alberto Del Rio vs. Stardust
  • Kalisto vs. Ryback
  • Neville vs. King Barrett

The only thing sure for the next round is that Ziggler will be facing Ambrose and Reigns fighting Cesaro, with the rest to be determined after the remaining matches.

From the looks of it and with both of them on separate sides, a safe bet would be a Reigns vs. Ambrose setto for the world title. But would it make sense?

If so, the collision could end up seeing that much awaited heel turn of Ambrose. That is something that has been long speculated, although it depends first if Ambrose will successfully fend off his remaining foes. Also, it would be wise not to discount Del Rio altogether as well.

Assuming the Lunatic Fringe does get by Ziggler, he will likely face Owens next if the upper part of the bracket is to be any indication. If he falls short, the setting is perfect for a face vs. heel setto seeing Reigns facing Owens.

Whatever happens, the finals of this tournament will likely be held at WWE Survivor Series, shaping up to be a brother vs. brother matchup with Reigns vs. Ambrose. That is unless the WWE suddenly decides to give Owens a surprise push despite already holding the intercontinental title.
