WWE SummerSlam 2015 rumors: Ambrose-Reigns duo to crumble at Sunday's PPV?

In the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), tag-teams and/or partnerships being broken up is nothing new. We have seen it millions of times. We saw the Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty), the Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff Hardy), and even the Rhodes (Cody and Dustin) splitting up at some point to pursue individual careers.

The process includes feuds between them; and heading into WWE SummerSlam, the tandem of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose is expected to update that list.

Rumors have been flying that Dean Ambrose is set to turn on his pal Roman Reigns this coming Sunday, which could happen due to a miscalculation or seeing emotions flying high. Chances are the Ambrose-Reigns combo will end up jawing and fighting each other despite the fact that the theme of the match is "family."

Ambrose is a fan-favorite, and playing second fiddle to Reigns has been stopping him from rising in the WWE ranks. On the other end, Reigns needs to move on with another WWE star to continue his needed improvement to be accepted as a full-pledged WWE star.

With the WWE title storyline seemingly still unlikely to have Reigns in the picture, both former Shield members are likely to enter a totally new storyline. This would mean that the long-running feud between Reigns and Bray Wyatt will likely end Sunday.

Ambrose is considered the modern day Stone Cold Steve Austin, while Reigns is one step closer to being the next face of the WWE. Hence, seeing them broken up and taking each other makes a lot of sense, a route that many former champions have done in the past.

So will this leave a lot of WWE fans disappointed? Probably not, considering that it was high time that Ambrose is given a push and for Reigns to move on as he continues to prove he deserves to be the next face of the WWE.

Will it really happen this Sunday? There is only one way to find out and that is by catching WWE SummerSlam which takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The WWE Network will start airing the pay-per-view (PPV) at 7 p.m. EST and 4 p.m. PST.
