WWE rumors: Who will step up in place of Nikki Bella?

Nikki Bella reigned for quite some time and made history by being champion for a record 301 days. That bested the previous one held by AJ Lee.

The road toward that feat saw Nikki competing regularly in shows until Charlotte ended all that at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Night of Champions.

Nikki is now on the sidelines and, apparently, such is largely due to the bulging discs in her neck. Right now, there is no word on whether the former WWE Divas champion will require surgery or not. All that will be known by January 2016 as the Bella Twins bared through Twitter how January will be a day of reckoning for Nikki.

If Nikki undergoes surgery, that would mean she would be forced out of action for months. With that said, some of her co-Divas may need to step up.

Brie would have been perfect, seeing how she has a fan base already, but it looks like the WWE is leaning on a different direction. And the obvious is that Charlotte and Becky Lynch are at the forefront of it all.

Other Divas who have been making big strides as well are Sasha Banks and, of course, Paige; but at the way the WWE shows are running lately, it seems that it may eventually boil down to a Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch feud in the end.

Charlotte has been slowly transforming into the face-to-heel character which is somehow similar to how her father, Ric Flair, was able to work to and fro during his prime. With Nikki out, it seems that Charlotte will step in her shoes, with Lynch as the perennial face.

Lynch was in action at the Dec. 28 edition of RAW but lost to Banks. Curiously, Charlotte was not around this time. Banks had been given a push before but if exposure is to be a basis, Lynch is the one being given the sheepish push as of late.
