WWE rumors 2016: Alberto Del Rio reclaims U.S. title from Kalisto

Kalisto made headlines recently when he captured the U.S. title from Alberto Del Rio at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Raw last Monday.

However, it seems that his title-reign has already ended.

A rematch for the U.S. championship occurred at WWE Smackdown on Thursday. As it turned out, Del Rio regained the title from Kalisto, cutting short the title-run of the high flyer.

It remains to be seen what gives, although it is not as high profile if you compare that match to the evolving ones the WWE has right now. Much of the attention has been on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, so leave some room for a possible twist brewing in the battle of Hispanic stars.

Del Rio hasn't done much other than to be recognized as the U.S. title bearer and the change in hands was seen by many as a sign of better things to come.

Ever since he won it from John Cena at WWE Night of Champions, Del Rio has been more involved in the League of Nations than in defending his title. Prior to Kalisto, there were no serious threats to the title, so this could be a new storyline in the works.

While the spoiler came out a few days before WWE Smackdown's Thursday show, many are more interested in what lies ahead for Del Rio and Kalisto. Will this be a storyline that will head toward something more interesting?

The two could possibly meet again at the 2016 WWE Royal Rumble which will take place next week unless the WWE plans a title-change once again in the coming shows.

Whatever the real reason is, the earliest fans could probably see that is at WWE Raw next Monday so keep an eye out if any more (U.S.) title changes happen from here on.
