WWE rumors 2016: AAA contract dispute could push Rey Mysterio back into WWE fold

Rey Mysterio is no stranger to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), one of the small guys famous for winning the world heavyweight championship and one of the wrestling talents popular among the fans.

His name has been up in the WWE rumor mill lately, something that came up during the time when Alberto Del Rio made his surprise return at WWE Night of Champion.

Like Del Rio, Mysterio was believed to be doing well with AAA and Lucha Underground, shooting down any possibility of him returning to the WWE scene. Then again, the wrestling followers saw how Del Rio caught everyone off guard by making a WWE comeback, meaning anything is possible.

Right now, Mysterio is reportedly having contract issues with AAA, with the high-flying wrestler reportedly owed money. Could this be the opening that the WWE is waiting for?

Mysterio reiterates that he parted with the WWE in good terms. He also mentioned before that he would be open to returning to the WWE if the chance comes up. With those facts on the table right now, the WWE may want to consider it as they hit their goal of developing their Hispanic niche.

Other than that, it is obvious that the WWE is in need of help in the roster. Most of the stars are injured, so recalling old faces is an alternative.

There is one catch as far as Mysterio is concerned. It seems he wants a contract similar to that of Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker where he would have a reduced schedule.

Mysterio is placing weight on spending time with his family as well before his kids eventually grow up and move out.

If ever the WWE and Mysterio hold talks, this could be the issue that may need sorting out. The WWE could bend a bit in this case since Mysterio would be technically filling in while other stars are on the mend.

Assuming that both sides reach an agreement, Mysterio could be back in time for WrestleMania 32. With that in mind, it should give Vince McMahon and company some breathing room as they try to whip up a big spectacle this April.
