WWE rumors 2015: Dean Ambrose wants WWE Intercontinental title

Dean Ambrose fell short of winning the World Wrestling (WWE) heavyweight title at Survivor Series last week, although it wasn't as hurting since he lost to his best buddy Roman Reigns.

Reigns eventually lost the title to a cashing in Sheamus and, apparently, that shuns him away from a possible rematch at this point. So with that said, the Lunatic Fringe has set his eyes on a different WWE title — Kevin Owens' Intercontinental championship.

Ambrose earned the shot after winning that Triple Threat match held at WWE Smackdown to become the number one contender for Owens' title. The setto thus recalls two protagonists who faced off at the rightmost bracket of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, which as everyone knows, was one by the Lunatic Fringe.

Could he repeat that performance once he officially faces off with Owens for the Intercontinental title?

Ambrose does have a decent chance, but then again we have to wait and see how the creative team goes with this one. Owens is one tough opponent and surely, that win by Ambrose at Survivor Series could be doubly hard to repeat.

The new feud is, of course, another highlight for the WWE aside from the Reigns vs. Sheamus angle. Ambrose is the other half of the former Shield duo who is also a fan-favorite. Recall that there were some who wanted him to win the WWE title, but it seems that he may do so but at Owens' expense.

Could they be on a collision course at WWE TLC? Unless a third guy comes into the mix, that is the likely scenario.

Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler are unlikely to make a scene here since the two are likely to feud more which was instigated by the whole Summer Rae issue which previously included Rusev.

Will Ambrose be the next Intercontinental title holder? Fans seem to want it, although it depends on whether or not the WWE will make that the case soon.
