A.J. Styles is a familiar name in the wrestling world and there have been rumors tying up the star to the WWE in recent weeks.

Styles is part of the rumored New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) group set to join the WWE ranks and all that should be made official this Sunday if what multiple outlets are claiming hold true.

PW Insider has confirmed that Styles will be debuting in the WWE, and the Royal Rumble stands as the best time for him to make his appearance.

His debut has been long awaited and there were some who even believed that it would have happened in the week before the 2016 Royal Rumble edition. Both RAW and Smackdown have already passed and there is still no sign of the former Total Nonstop Action (TNA) star.

Should he indeed appear, Styles is not tipped as the favorites to win the battle royal wherein Roman Reigns needs to survive until everyone else is tossed to remain heavyweight champion. Styles may appear simply to introduce himself to the WWE fans, nothing else.

Styles is linked to possibly one of the members for a new faction called "Bullet Club." Aside from him, other members reportedly signed up by the WWE include NJPW stars Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson.

The rumored entry of a new faction marks another group set to invade the WWE scene. At the moment, existing stables include the League of Nations, the long-running Wyatt Family, and the mid-card group Social Outcasts.

From the looks of it, Bullet Club could likely be an offshoot of the Shield which starred Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns. The trio have since split up and risen to new heights so such could be the same path for Styles and company.

The 2016 edition of the WWE Royal Rumble will kick off at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida this Sunday starting at 8 p.m. EST or 5 p.m. PST.
