The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is focusing on WWE SummerSlam right now but it looks like preparations for the next pay-per-view (PPV) WWE Night of Champions is already taking shape.
Headlining the possible cards for WWE Night of Champions may include the return of Sting (Steve Borden) who had initially been rumored to be joining Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose at the coming PPV.
Those plans were, however, scrapped seeing that SummerSlam already had a packed roster of stars appearing next Sunday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
If true, this means that the Reigns-Wyatt feud will not end at SummerSlam. There will likely be no heel turn as well for Dean Ambrose. Rather, this will set the stage for a three-man tag match.
With Sting possibly reinforcing Reigns and Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper could possibly be adding another original member in Erick Rowan. Rowan has been out due to injury; but he could very well make a return before WWE Night of Champions, which is set on Sept. 20, 2015 at the Toyota Center in Houston.
If not Rowan, there are rumors suggesting as well that the third member could be Bo Dallas, Bray Wyatt's actual brother. If the 'Family' cliché continues to be used, it would make a lot of sense.
Another possible candidate to become The Wyatt Family's third member is Adam Rose who will be reverting to his former identity, Leo Kruger.
Aside from the three-man tag match, here are some other rumored matchups.
There is Seth Rollins vs. John Cena for the WWE title. So it seems that WWE SummerSlam will not be the end of the feud between these two and there will be reportedly an added stipulation for this match.
Other matches could see Nikki Bella defending her Divas title against Charlotte who has been getting quite a push latterly, the Prime Time Players defending the tag team titles against the Lucha Dragons, and a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental title involving Ryback, Cesaro, and Kevin Owens.
So does this mean that the Prime Time Players and Ryback will retain their belts at WWE SummerSlam? We will just have to wait and see.
WWE SummerSlam takes place next weekend at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York starting at 7 p.m. EST and 4 p.m. PST. The PPV will be broadcast live via the WWE Network.
