WWE news, rumors: WWE reportedly has not plans to bring back Daniel Bryan

Despite reports about a possible return for a new match, WWE seems to have no plans to bring back Daniel Bryan to the ring anytime soon.

A report from Forbes in late August claimed that WWE is considering to bring back the retired professional wrestler to the ring after The Miz taunted him during an episode of "Talking Smack."

According to the report, the 35-year-old former wrestler already received a clear bill of health from his doctors before he announced his announcement. However, the medical team from WWE has yet to give him a medical clearance.

But Sports Illustrated reported that WWE may still hold back on Bryan's return on the ring, since the company is still facing a multi-million dollar concussion lawsuit. This could mean that the pro wrestling company is not willing to take any risk to involve the current General Manager of SmackDown Live in another physical match that could worsen his physical condition.

Prior to Bryan's retirement, the WWE had to pull him out of their European tour in 2015 as a preventive measure because of the injuries that he sustained in his previous matches. He was also pulled out from his scheduled Intercontinental Championship belt title defense against Bad News Barrett because his health condition could not allow him to compete.

Bryan ultimately announced his retirement via Twitter, claiming that he had to cut his career short due to medical reasons. According to the former wrestler, he suffered 10 documented concussions during his matches, but there could be more incidents which could be misdiagnosed or undocumented. He also reportedly encountered several post-concussion seizures.

At the moment, Bryan is busy working for Shane McMahon for SmackDown. He is also seen multiple times during the post-SmackDown interviews on Talking Smack on the WWE Network, which means that wrestling fans will not have to miss him despite his absence from the ring.
