WWE Extreme Rules rumors: Nikki Bella vs. Paige for Divas title

In the last WWE RAW, there was a scheduled Divas Battle Royal to determine who would be the number one contender to Nikki Bella's Divas championship.

The Divas Battle Royal saw Natalya, Naomi, Emma, Rosa Mendes, Summer Rae, Alicia Fox, Cameron, Brie Bella and Paige. Naomi and Paige were among the favourites to come out on top and as fate would have it, two-time Divas champ Paige came out as the eventual winner.

However, Paige's celebration was cut short when Naomi attacked Paige after the match. Paige reportedly suffered an injury from the attack and may now be questionable for WWE Extreme Rules set to take place on April 26, 2015 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago.

There is no telling though on what the future holds on Naomi who wants a piece of the Bella Twins. Her attack on Paige also brings up questions on who between Paige and the Bella Twins she will be targeting. Will she target Nikki Bella or Paige? It seems almost certain that Naomi will have a role in the Divas Championship match, purposely or not.

And then there is the question of the severity of Paige's injury no thanks to Naomi's assault. Will Paige be fit to compete? Will she forced the issue and compete or be left out of the action?

For now, the official word from the WWE is that it will be Nikki Bella vs. Paige for the Divas championship. Other cards made official are mostly title matches:

  • Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton (WWE Heavyweight championship)
  • John Cena vs. Rusev (US Championship)
  • Daniel Bryan vs. Bad News Barrett (Intercontinental Championship)

Another previous rumor to note is on whether this would be the last hurrah of Nikki Bella. Talks about the Bella Twins leaving the WWE have been out and such could be the perfect setting for their exit... if they are indeed leaving the world of wrestling entertainment.
