WWE Battleground 2015 latest: The Undertaker returns for Brock Lesnar

There were unconfirmed reports that the Undertaker would be making an appearance at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Battleground and apparently the Dead Man was indeed around.

The Undertaker didn't have a match since everyone knows that the WWE saves select pay-per-view shows such as Wrestlemania for the Dead Man to appear. But for some reason, he returned at WWE Battleground and had his eyes on Brock Lesnar.

With Seth Rollins at an obvious disadvantage against the Beast Incarnate, it would have taken a miracle for him to retain his WWE title. The belief back then was that Rollins would take a disqualification to retain the title but as it turned out, help came in from someone he least expected.

The only thing is that the Undertaker returned not to help Rollins but to seek payback on Lesnar who is best known for breaking his streak back at Wrestlemania 30 in 2014. But why only now?

The Undertaker did compete at Wrestlemania 31 against Bray Wyatt, something he did win without much surprise. But one has to wonder why he would suddenly be interested in Lesnar?

Could this be linked with that WWE RAW incident where Paul Heyman took potshots at Kane? Remember that Heyman did indirectly mention the name of the Undertaker when he asked Kane if the Undertaker's "Baby Brother" was threatening the Beast.

Then Heyman reminded Kane how Lesnar broke the Undertaker's streak and what the Beast Incarnate could do should he be provoked at the scheduled contract-signing that night.

Also, do remember that Lesnar did use some steel steps to injure Kane's leg, something that practically shot down any help coming from the Authority as far as Rollins was concerned.

So as it stands now, it may not be surprising to see Lesnar and the Undertaker facing off at WWE SummerSlam. But where does this leave Rollins?

Reigns is expected to continue to feud with Wyatt after the former lost at WWE Battleground so that angle is scratched as well. What about Dean Ambrose?

Also, don't forget that rumored Triple H vs. Rollins match set to see who has the best pedigree. That could happen as well.

Whatever happens, all this should settle down and take shape in the coming weeks before WWE SummerSlam, which is set for August 23.
