WWE news 2015: Dean Ambrose almost got stabbed by fan?

It seems that the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) needs to beef up its security a bit following another incident recently.

Ironically, it involves another former Shield member in Dean Ambrose, although it doesn't seem clear if the alleged fan was indeed intending to hurt Ambrose.

According to a report by TMZ, Dean Ambrose was signing autographs after a taping for WWE Smackdown. Video footage shows the Lunatic Fringe stopping somewhere near the ramp with some security behind him.

At a certain point, a fan jumped up from the railings and rushed towards Ambrose. It wasn't clear if the fan had intended to do some harm to Ambrose, although some people said that he carried a sharp object or a knife. Then again, it could have been a simple pen to get his autograph seeing the Lunatic Fringe was on the other side.

Regardless, WWE security was able to bring down the fan before he could reach Ambrose, although it seemed he was pretty close. There is still no word if the fan indeed had a knife under his possession during the attack.

The fan could be a hater or an avid follower but jumping up and over the railing and rushing towards the WWE star does carry mixed reactions on what his motives were. Ambrose seemed aware of what went down and simply glanced at the pinned fan and carried on.

This marks the second time in a row that a WWE star had been assaulted. A couple of weeks ago, Roman Reigns got hit by an inadvertent replica Money in the Bank briefcase which hit Reigns on the head. He was up against Bray Wyatt at that time.

The WWE may want to tighten up their security or beef up their current personnel to avoid similar incidents in the future.
