'Wonder Woman' release date, news: Gal Gadot recalls putting on superhero costume for the first time

The DC Extended Universe is following up this year's slate of ensemble movies with an origins movie next year in "Wonder Woman." While the movie will be one of the many firsts not just in the DCEU but in the superhero genre as a whole, there are already a lot of hopes for the film especially with the impressive trailers and a tidbit of what Gal Gadot has to offer in her first standalone film.

Arguably, the Israeli model and actress was one of the bright spots in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" which premiered earlier this year. Despite having limited screen time, she exuded power and grace getting people sold on her as the contemporary incarnation of Wonder Woman. But Gadot recently revealed that it was hard work for her especially in maneuvering her character's battle armor.

Making an appearance at the recently held Rhode Island Comic Con, the "Fast and Furious" alum detailed her initial experience in putting on her costume, describing it as "very, very, very, very tight"

"The very-very first time I tried the costume on was three days after I got cast. And they flew me to Michigan, and I got into this huge hangar," she recalled. "And then, when they wanted me to try on the costume — because I was so excited that they cast me for the role — I couldn't say anything; I couldn't breathe, but I was like, 'That's okay. That's fine.' It was really-really tight, and we adjusted it. And I love the costume. I think, it complements Wonder Woman very much so, as being the greatest warrior out there. And now it's much more comfortable."

Obviously, the costume adjustment went great if how she conducted herself wearing her battle armor is any indication. Thankfully, the timing worked well as filming for both "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League Part 1" have been completed as the bombshell is now expecting baby No. 2 with her husband of almost 10 years, Yaron Versano. Otherwise, fans can imagine just how difficult it would be for her to move in Diana Prince's very medieval suit knowing that she is pregnant.

"Wonder Woman" is directed by Patty Jenkins and will be out on June 2, 2017. "Justice League Part 1," on the other hand, will follow a couple months after on Nov. 17.
