HBO has already announced that the season 2 of "Westworld" will be released in spring 2018. Cast and creators handed out hints that production started filming in Utah. So far, little information about the storyline of season 2 has been given by director Jonathan Nolan.

Evan Rachel Wood is posting pictures on her Instagram account, indicating the start of production. Woods will return as Dolores Abernathy along with Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe and Ed Harris as the Man in Black.

Fans are still wondering whether Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) will return to season 2 after being shot in the head by Dolores. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan commended Hopkins and Wright for their brilliant performance and unique chemistry. He said, "We felt that dynamic. ... Who wouldn't want to watch these two actors argue for decades over the meaning of life." This interview took place in December 2016, but it may indicate that Hopkins will comeback in season 2.

Writers and directors are also keeping an eye for any fan theories being uploaded on the internet, especially on Reddit. Some theories suggest that Logan is not really dead and will comeback in season 2. One theory tackles the death of Ford, saying the body that was shot was only a 3-D printed copy of the real Ford.

The first episode of "Westworld" season 2 is called "Journey Into Night" and there is no plot description posted by the showrunners yet.

"Westworld" season 1 received a lot of high scores and ratings from Internet critics. The TV series received a score of 9 out of 10 from IGN and IMDb and an 88% rating from Rotten Tomatoes. "Westworld" was nominated for Best Television Series for Drama at the Golden Globe Awards. Wood is also a recipient of a couple of awards including Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
