The sophomore season of "Wayward Pines" opened with a lot of mind-blowing issues among the residents of the titular creepy town, and it seems to be getting scarier in the upcoming episodes.
In the second season premiere, newly awakened surgeon Dr. Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) was brought into Wayward Pines by Sheriff Pope (Terrence Howard). But Theo immediately disliked what he saw while he was being driven to the town's hospital, since he discovered that the tiny community is under an uprising against its leader Jason Higgins (Tom Stevens).
As Theo struggles to make sense of his new surroundings in the strange town, he will do everything that he can in order to find out the truth about the mystery of Wayward Pines while looking for answers about the status of his marriage with his wife Rebecca (Nimrat Kaur), whom he last saw in Hawaii.
Based on the trailer for episode 2, Theo will find himself outside the town's gates with the leaders of the rebellion, who happen to be Ethan Burke's (Matt Dillon) son Ben (Charlie Tahan) and another resident, Xander (Josh Helman).
Since the trailer shows that the group is outside the town proper where the abbies roam freely, this could mean that their lives could be in danger. However, executive producer M. Night Shyamalan told TVLine that the three of them will have a startling discovery about the abbies.
"You'll see what happens to all three people in the car in upcoming episodes — that's all I want to say — and learn more about what the Abbies are doing in the moment. We see they're up to something different. It's confusing. 'What the f–k was that?'" Shyamalan teased.
Also, the executive producer mentioned that viewers will finally learn more about Theo's wife Rebecca in episode 2, titled "Blood Harvest," which airs on Wednesday, June 1, on Fox.
