'Vikings' season 4 episode 3 spoilers update: Count Odo sides with Rollo

The third episode of "Vikings" season 4 will show the outcome of Ragnar's interrogation of Floki while Ragnar's son, Bjorn, faces uncertainty in the wild.

The title of the episode, "Mercy," may be pertaining to Ragnar having mercy on Floki despite the latter's murder of Athelstan. Fans will recall that the king got very attached to Athelstan even though they had different beliefs, and he was devastated when the unimaginable happened to the Christian monk.

At the moment, as Floki is trying hard to endure a Viking-style punishment, a guest suddenly arrives and asks Ragnar to spare Floki. As the International Business Times reported, the guest might be Harbard.

Meanwhile, Bjorn, continuing his trek into the wilderness, is going to have to fight for his life. His fight during the "Siege of Paris" last season is apparently nothing compared to the one he's about to encounter -- a face-off with a 10-foot bear in an almost barren land. He still has his battle axe by his side, though, so he has a fighting chance, at least. However, even if he does come out of the fight alive, IBTimes says that another adversary is on its way, courtesy of King Horik's son, Erlendur.

Another surprising act in the upcoming episode is Rollo having Count Odo as his ally. It is hard to believe but Count Odo offers assistance to the man who has the woman he ambitiously wanted to have.

The official synopsis of "Mercy," as Zap2It reported, reads: "Ragnar informs Floki of a heavy price he has paid for his actions; Rollo finds an unlikely ally in Count Odo; Bjorn has to fight a fierce opponent in the wilderness."

An exclusive preview of the upcoming installment can be seen on History's YouTube channel, and starts off with Erlendur giving orders to an unknown Viking to kill Bjorn, no matter what. Harbard is also mentioned in the trailer, giving additional proof that he will be back and might be the visitor during Floki's time with Ragnar.

"Vikings" season 4 episode 3 will be on the History Channel on Thursday, March 3, at 10 p.m. EST.
