HBO has pulled the breaks on the production of their comedy hit series "Veep" to make way for Julia Louis-Dreyfus's breast cancer treatment. Dreyfus shocked a lot of people when she announced her condition in September.

Dreyfus posted a message on her Instagram account about her diagnosis. She wrote, "1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I'm the one." Many fans quickly shower her their support and some of them are also diagnosed with the same cancer disease. One individual said, "Hang in there and be kind to yourself each and every day. I just finished 5 months of chemo. It can be a s*** kicker some days but not all."

During an interview with SiriusXM News & Issues, "Veep's" Executive Producer Frank Rich said they are waiting for Dreyfus's full recovery to resume production. Rich said, "While we wait for her to gather her full strength around her treatment, we've been having with the cast in Los Angeles, a table reads of scripts."

Rich also shared that nothing has changed with the positive and hilarious attitude of Dreyfus, saying, "I've seen her as recently as 10 days ago and watch her just, you know, be hilarious, plain Selina Meyer (Dreyfus's character in the show." Rich concluded his statement, "She's a very strong person and we can't wait to welcome her back at full speed."

Season 6 of "Veep" received impressive reviews from fans and critics. According to Vulture, the show's season 6 finale featured an amazing performance from Dreyfus.

Vulture gave season 6 a perfect score of 5. The show received an 88% score rating from Metacritic.

With production on hold, HBO has yet to announce the premiere date of the final season. All of the show's seasons premiered in April every year. Early speculations before Dreyfus' announcement about her diagnosis indicate the show would resume in April 2018.
