TripAdvisor's best hotels for families

The travel website TripAdvisor has announced its top hotels for families across 26 regions around the world.

American hotels accounted for half of the global top 10, followed by Italy, the only European country to make the list with three hotels.

Top 10 World Hotels for Families:

1. Cavallino Bianco Family Spa Grand Hotel, Ortisei, Italy
2. Club Med Ixtapa Pacific, Ixtapa, Mexico
3. Family Hotel La Grotta, Vigo di Fassa, Italy
4. Hotel Baltic, Giulianova, Italy
5. Floridays Resort Orlando, Orlando, Florida
6. Woodloch Pines Resort, Hawley, Pennsylvania
7. WorldQuest Orlando Resort, Orlando, Florida
8. West Inn and Suites Carlsbad, Carlsbad, California
9. Red Jacket Mountain View Resort, North Conway, New Hampshire
10. Beaches Negril Resort & Spa, Negril, Jamaic

Italy also dominated the European top 10, with seven hotels, while the UK managed one - the Auchrannie Spa Resort in Brodick, on the Isle of Arran, in Scotland, which was ranked 10th.
