'Tom Clancy's The Division' updates: Companion book announced

Tom Clancy's The Division Ubisoft

Game company Ubisoft has announced the companion book for "Tom Clancy's The Division." Called "The Division: New York Collapse," it will guide players in their journey to survive in a pandemic-engulfed New York City.

The book, Ubisoft details in its blog post, predates the events that change the city. It includes helpful tips along with handwritten notes "from a lone survivor," who is trying to make sense of the destruction that reduced New York into rubble. This will surely help players understand what they are fighting for when they get into the field. The book is teeming with "clues and removable artifacts" and will aid gamers in the discovery of more secrets.

"The consequence of a pandemic on society is an interesting subject," Ubisoft Massive Managing Director David Polfeldt said as quoted in the blog post. "Not only does New York Collapse explore the topic of urban survival with real tips and advice, ranging from basic survival needs to catching edible game in city parks, it will also reveal enlightening information and key secrets about The Division."

Those who are interested to know more about the instigation of the battles and survival in "Tom Clancy's The Division" as well as the secrets on how to win over them all can pre-order the "The Division: New York Collapse" survival guide right now for $25 on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Chronicle Books.

A day before Ubisoft announced the guide book, the game studio released a teaser of what was initially thought was the game itself. It came in the form of cryptic scribbles that lead to the code "Move off Manhattan Island now."

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is scheduled to hit store shelves on March 8, 2016.
