Marvel has had its fair share of origin stories and standalone superhero movies. And after the success of mega team blockbusters in the form of two "Avengers" films, the entertainment giant is now pairing off two superheroes at a time for a dynamic performance.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will see the mighty Norse god working with the unpredictable green giant, the Hulk. And although it would be interesting to see how Thor will be able to control and work with a creature that defeats villains based primarily on feelings of anger, it looks like Marvel is making a few changes to the Hulk.

Mark Ruffalo, who portrays Bruce Banner/The Hulk, spoke to Ain't It Cool News about the upcoming film and his recent character change.

"It's very subtle, but the Banner/Hulk consciousness is beginning to meld a little bit. Who decided to leave? Was it Banner or Hulk? It's not really in the (cinematic) mythology of Hulk up until that moment to be that conscious and pro-active. It's interesting, right?" the actor said.

If fans can recall, in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the Hulk flew away on one of the enemy's jets to avoid hurting anyone again, especially his newly sparked love interest, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson). The jet crashed near Fiji and left Bruce's whereabouts unknown. But in his final moments, viewers caught a glimpse of the Hulk seemingly being controlled by an emotion other than rage.

Will fans get to see a more intelligent Hulk in "Thor: Ragnarok?"

In other character news, Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett is reportedly in talks for a role in the upcoming film. If true, "Thor 3" will mark her superhero debut. Variety first reported on the revelation and noted that the superhero flick won't be her first fantasy film. Blanchett played Galadriel in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "The Hobbit" trilogy.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will hit cinemas on Nov. 3, 2017.
