'The Witcher 3' Blood and Wine DLC news: Gamers will meet lots of creatures in new expansion pack

New details about the highly anticipated Blood and Wine DLC coming to "The Witcher 3" recently came to light care of the game's senior animator Jamie Bury.

During a chat with Good Game, the artist revealed that there will be "lots of creatures [and] lots of quests" in Blood and Wine. This sets it apart from the Hearts of Stone DLC, which did not offer much in terms of new characters.

The inclusion of new creatures hardly comes as a surprise since Blood and Wine is set in an entirely new region called Toussaint, a land that is shrouded in mystery and one that has terrifying beings like the Scolopendromorphs for dwellers.

First seen in the screenshots from the expansion pack, the creatures with a complicated name take the form of extra-large centipedes. "The Witcher 3" players will definitely encounter them in their travels around the land.

In the interview, Bury also hinted that one creature in "The Witcher 3" DLC was inspired by a movie he refused to reveal. Despite being coy, the senior animator teased that there will be a lot to see in Blood and Wine.

"The Witcher 3" Blood and Wine DLC will offer 20 hours worth of gameplay. According to CD Projekt Red developers in an interview with Gamestar, Toussaint will be as big as Skellige, one of the game's main maps.

The DLC will also bring a new Skellige gwent deck. The developers also spilled the beans on CD Projekt Red's plans to launch the expansion pack before the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) next month.

CD Projekt Red will provide more details about "The Witcher 3" Blood and Wine DLC on May 10. According to reports, the game studio will share a trailer for the expansion pack on that day.

While fans will get their first real look at Blood and Wine next week, rumors indicate that they won't be able to purchase it until June.
