'The Voice' season 9 results: Top 12 contenders revealed

 NBC

"The Voice" now brings viewers 12 performers, as the number has been officially cut down to half.

According to Hollywood Life, three artists had to make the exit during the Live Playoffs on Nov. 11 in order for judges Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell, and Gwen Stefani to make a decision.

During the playoffs, two representatives from each coach were automatically safe based on votes cast by viewers. That means each of the coaches had to eliminate three of their contestants to allow the final spots to be filled.

From Stefani's team, Braiden Sunshine and Jeffrey Austin were voted by America to get through. The last spot was filled by Korin Bukowski, sending home Ellie Lawrence, Regina Love, and Viktor Kiraly.

Over to Team Blake, Zach Seabaugh and Barrett Baber made it safely to the next round and Emily Ann Roberts joined in. The show said goodbye to Morgan Frazier, Nadjah Nicole, and Ivonne Acero.

Pharrell's team came next, and as noted in the report, the coach has some strong contenders in his team and it was difficult for him to make a decision. Madi Davis and Eva McKeel are officially in the top 12, with Mark Hood joining them. Celeste Betton, Riley Biederer, and Darius Scott all went home.

As for Team Adam, America voted for Shelby Brown and Jordan Smith, who's been called by the coach as "the most important contestant" on the show. Picking one among a group of talented artists was never easy, but Levine had to make the tough decision of sending Blaine Mitchell, Chance Pena, and Keith Semple home and awarding the final spot to Amy Vachal.

Now that "The Voice" has its top 12 performers, it will be another showdown next week to get the attention and approval of the judges and all of America.

On Nov. 16's episode, there will be another set of live performances and the following day, two more will have to leave the show.

Catch "The Voice" season 9 every Monday AT 8 p.m. EST and Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
