Next week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will be titled "Coming Home Was a Mistake," and it will showcase the brotherly love of Stefan (Paul Wesley) for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) as the latter goes overboard. Stefan will then have to make an important decision that could influence their relationship.
The synopsis for Episode 5, reads: "Spiraling down a dangerous path of self-destruction, Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) latest actions prove he may be beyond the point of return. Unwilling to give up on his brother, Stefan (Paul Wesley) is forced to make a gut-wrenching decision that threatens to change their relationship forever. Elsewhere, Bonnie (Kat Graham) gets advice from Caroline (Candice King) on how to break through to Enzo (Michael Malarkey), while Matt (Zach Roerig) attempts to decipher a mysterious box of messages that he's received. Finally, after tragedy strikes close to home, Stefan and the others are forced to remember what matters most to them."
The synopsis does not indicate if Stefan is going to end the life of Damon, but fans' way of thinking is going in that direction. Damon is still under Sybil's (Nathalie Kelley) full control and is expected not be let go of soon unless the spell breaks.
Speaking of Sybil, she considered as the most ruthless villain on the show even before she gained supernatural powers, as shown in the previous episode. All along, viewers were thinking that Sybil was the good girl on the stranded island, but she was instead responsible for luring numerous sailors to their deaths. As it turns out, the good one is Seline. (Kristen Gutoskie).
Meanwhile, it was previously rumored that Nina Dobrev will make a surprising appearance on one of the episodes of the final season. Dobrev was with the series for the first six seasons and has played as Elena Gilbert, which was the main character of the show. Dobrev also played the role of Katherine Pierce, Elena's doppelganger.
It is speculated that Dobrev will return as one of Sybil's sisters and will be the person responsible for Damon's death.
