The strong brotherly love between the Salvatore brothers will be seen in the next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.

According to the synopsis for the episode titled "Days of Future Past," Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will sacrifice his own safety to ensure the safety of his younger brother Stefan (Paul Wesley). But this will come with a surprising effect on him. Will Stefan allow his brother to risk his life for his sake?

In the trailer for the upcoming episode, Rayna (Leslie-Anne Huff) is heard telling Stefan that his only chance to get out of her clutches is to let go of his older brother. Stefan refused to transfer his scar to Damon in the previous episode, but it seems like he will finally agree to the idea, based on the sneak peek for episode 16, so he could finally get out of the Phoenix Stone.

Meanwhile, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) will try to clear his name after being accused of helping Rayna escape the Armory. However, he will have to encounter Nora, who will lead him to more unexpected findings.

The official synopsis for the upcoming episode reads:

"In an attempt to make things right with his brother, Damon offers to have Stefan's scar magically transferred to him, only to discover that doing so may come with unexpected consequences. With time running out and Rayna closing in on Stefan, Valerie desperately attempts to reason with Damon before it's too late. Elsewhere, after being framed for breaking Rayna out of The Armory, Enzo attempts to clear his name, but not before a violent run-in with Nora forces him to make an upsetting discovery."

Ian Somerhalder directed episode 16, which will air when the series returns after a brief hiatus on Friday, April 1, on The CW.
