"The Sims 4" fans are still expecting that a console version will be ported soon. However, the game was not mentioned during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, held last month. It is speculated that it will be skipped and developer EA will just focus on the next game in the series which will reportedly be console friendly.

Previous games in "The Sims" series did not take this long before their ported versions were released. It took 13 months for "The Sims 2" and 16 months for "The Sims 3" to have their console versions but with the fourth installment, it is already close to two years and there is still no news. "The Sims 4" was released back in September 2014 and EA has not said a word yet.

Previous reports suggest that the company is experiencing technical difficulties in porting the game, which has been the most logical reason behind the delay. Another rumor suggests that EA wants everything released first on the PC version, with all the DLC packs and add-ons, before releasing the console version.

Now, after E3 2016, another rumor popped out, stating that there will be no more "The Sims 4" for the consoles, and will fans will just have to wait for "The Sims 5," which will have consoles in mind from the very beginning, GameNGuide reported.

Fans are still hoping that a ported version will arrive by 2017, Mobipicker added.

Meanwhile, SimsVIP stated that a possible new world maybe in the works for the latest version of the life-simulation game, which will feature a beach area called Rose Beach. The artist behind the artwork is named Michael Bierek, who works for Massive Black. The company is known to have worked with EA previously, on the concept art for "The Sims 4."

Currently, PC players have enjoyed two expansion packs, three game packs, seven Stuff packs and several more add-ons.
