"The Originals" is one of the returning series fans have waited to watch this fall. Season 3 will premiere this October and fans are wondering what the future holds for the Hayley–Elijah tandem.

Realty Today reported that despite Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) marriage situation, season 3 might show her leaving Jackson (Nathan Parsons) just to get back with Elijah (Daniel Gillies).

Previous reports also stated that show executive producer Julie Plec said that fans should not lose hope over Hayley and Elijah since they will be reunited at some point in the upcoming season.

According to Plec, the production team has already planned the story of Hayley and Elijah's relationship.

"There's always hope for Haylijah in the way that we planted the seeds for a relationship that clearly wants to happen," the executive producer told Entertainment Weekly.

She added that at the moment, the two are just facing some challenges in their relationship — such as Hayley's marriage to Jackson and not to mention, her curse.

Hayley will also seek revenge in the third season and according to Tonkin herself, fans should expect that her character will increase her thirst for blood and revenge, and that she will go after Klaus while struggling with her cursed wolf form.

Tonkin also revealed that she might enlist some help in her mission to go after Klaus and make him pay for what he did.

Meanwhile, season 3's first episode already has an official synopsis as released by The CW. Season 3 will pick up months after brothers Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah's battle with the witch, Dahlia (Claudia Black).

The brothers continue to be divided and sister Freya (Riley Voelkel) will work out a way to restore the bond their family once had and bring back them back altogether.

"The Originals" will return with its premiere episode on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. EST or 8 p.m. CST on The CW.
