'The Originals' season 3 spoilers: what to expect in future episodes

"The Originals" - flashback in season 3 CW

"The Originals" just premiered its third season last Thursday, Oct. 8, and during the episode, fans got to see Lucien, played by newcomer Andrew Lees ("The Pacific"), arrive in New Orleans as bearer of a dreadful prophecy that would mean the defeat of the Mikaelsons.

Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is not too happy about the news that he seeks comfort in Cami (Leah Pipes). However, Cami realizes Klaus is making a move on her and as a result, she ends up hurting his feelings.

Klaus, angry about what happened, takes it out on some guy in an alley. When asked about Klaus' tendency to get carried away by emotions, showrunner Julie Plec explained to TV Line that the character won't really become out of control.

Plec went on to say that Klaus' aggression in the previous episode is merely a "temper tantrum."

Meanwhile, Cami is called by Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) to check on a crime scene and there she meets Detective Will Kinney (Jason Dohring).

The amateur shrink tells Kinney she'll help him find the killer using the evidence. However, she and Vincent look closely at the victims and are now on the case to find out the vampire responsible for the deaths of humans.

The fanged creatures of New Orleans may no longer have Dahlia, from season 2, to worry about, but it seems that they will be dealing with new threats from outside.

To better understand these threats, it is expected that the show will bring in more flashbacks to see the history of all characters.

Season 3 will be more "vampire-focused" as revealed by Charles Michael Davis, who plays Marcel in the series.

In a separate report from Variety, Plec also said that as season 3 progresses, more flashback episodes will be featured, letting audiences know the stories of new vampires, as well as the old ones.

"The Originals" will return with a new episode on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
