The PS4 Pro might be one of the most powerful consoles up to date, but it seems that with the introduction of the variety of graphical options for 'The Last of Us' Remastered, Sony's latest high-powered console is having difficulty running the game smoothly, much to the disappointment of players.
According to the Metro UK, there have been several reports lately which points out that the remastered version of "The Last of Us" — as well as other games such as "Mantis Burn Racing" — suffer from issues that primarily makes it run slower on the PS4 Pro version compared to the normal PS4. This might be happening due to the fact that the games are some of the few native 4k graphics titles so far, and as such when they are played, there are decreased frame rates compared to the normal PlayStation 4.
Obviously, this is not a good thing as it is inconvenient for most users who shelled out more for the latest reiteration of Sony's console. The frustration is compounded by the fact that Sony itself told the game developers to ensure that the problem does not occur.
Meanwhile, other titles that are currently experiencing the same problems include: "Skyrim Remastered," "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," "Rise of the Tomb Raider," as well as others that experience frame rate drops during specific sections during gameplay.
According to Game Spot, Microsoft could be taking advantage of the current PS4 Pro issues. After all, the company is also working on an upgraded version of their current Xbox One console, dubbed Project Scorpio. With it's 2017 release date, Microsoft would definitely want gamers to hold off on buying the PS4 Pro, and news like this might just tip the scales in their favor.
In any case, Sony already claims to be aware of the issues and is currently investigating it, and hopefully a patch will be released soon to fix all the performance issues of the PS4 Pro.
