Ever since "The Incredibles" was released back in 2004, fans of the Disney film have been eagerly awaiting the news of a sequel. After all, Disney has been known to produce sequels for its more successful films.

Last year, "The Incredibles 2" was officially confirmed. And even though fans of the superhero film have already grown up by now, that did not stop their voices from rejoicing.

Brad Bird, director and writer of the original family comedy film, has been confirmed as the sequel's writer.

Samuel L. Jackson, who played Frozone in the first film, teased his return in an interview with Digital Spy, saying, "I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there."

And now, news of the film's plot are making a wave online.

Bird sat down with Cinema Blend while at a press event for his other film, "Tomorrowland," where the Academy Award winner touched on the sequel's intended story.

"For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that. So the movie is a step further in that direction – but I do have a story idea that I think is very intriguing, and not like anything else," he mused.

Something intriguing indeed has popped up as the latest rumor on the sequel's plot has put the family's youngest under a completely different light.

Jack-Jack, who was still a baby at the time of the original film's release, will reportedly turn into a villain in the sequel. Fans caught a glimpse of Jack-Jack's powerful abilities towards the end of the first film when he caused Syndrome's (the antagonist) downfall.

Meanwhile, Jack-Jack's loving superhero parents, Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) would be retired from the saving-the-world game. They are just regular Bob and Helen Parr.

"The Incredibles 2" is slated to be released on June 21, 2019, which gives Bird a whole lot of time to square out the story.
