Things got cooked in the previous "The Good Wife" season 7 episode. The mother and daughter cooking show quickly turned into a hollowing of the past and viewers who were there to watch participants cook some good food ended up listening to an intoxicated Veronica's bitter talk about history.
In this week's installment, things will be "Taxed" but no kitchen will be involved. Viewers will see Alicia fight for a client accused of shoplifting. However, as simple as it sounds, the case is much more than just pocketing of goods and becomes more complicated with possible blackmailing.
The promo for the upcoming "The Good Wife" season 7 installment shows that Alicia will have to do a little digging herself to win the case because the judge is determined to send her client, who insists that she did not commit the crime, to jail.
The clip for the episode asks the question "How do you fight for justice if the system fights back?" This is the very question Alicia has to find the answer to. In between, there are scenes where Alicia's client is urged to plead guilty and is being sent on probation despite her assertion of her innocence.
In this "The Good Wife" season 7 episode, Alicia will learn more about the bond court, starting with the fact that it claiming victory in a case isn't just a walk in the park and that judges that love to bite back could be a bond court lawyer's biggest pain in the neck.
Meanwhile, the episode will also see Diane in a bit of a quandary when she deals with a case involving a physician-assisted suicide that challenges her personal principles. The lawyer will find herself reluctantly invalidating her own beliefs after the instruction of her client's counsel Ethan Carver.
"The Good Wife" season 7 episode 4 "Taxed" airs Oct. 25 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
