'The Flash' season 2 rumors: What to expect from Cisco Ramon

There is a lot of anticipation on what "The Flash" season 2 will have to offer, and this early, many are looking forward to some comic-based renditions that involves two of Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) colleagues — Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlyn Snow (Danielle Panabaker).

Recall that in season 1, Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) made mention that the particle accelerator explosion has affected most people at Star Labs, meaning Cisco and Caitlyn could be metahumans too.

In the comics, Cisco is known to be as Vibe as well. Among his powers include the ability to produce shock waves and interdimensional travel abilities. But most importantly, he can disrupt the Speed Force which indicates that he can be a key figure in stopping the Flash or the Reverse Flash for that matter.

So will this happen in the coming season of the TV series? Unfortunately, Valdes, the actor who plays Cisco, bares that while he is aware of that plot, it may not take place yet in season 2.

"Even though we know that Caitlin Snow becomes Killer Frost and Cisco Ramon will potentially become Vibe, that's not really our concern right now. Our concern is giving life to these characters and giving them an independent storyline before these super powers, so that if and when these personalities are imbued with these powers, it means that much more. It carries a completely different significance because of that back story," says Valdes in an interview with DC Comics.

With that said, this twist may very well be struck out at least for the time being until Cisco's and Caitlyn's characters fully evolve.

With Harrison Wells expected to be back due to the time-travel element that many have seen in the latter part of season 1, there could be new twists still surrounding the two as well as Barry Allen and the rest of the cast.

"The Flash" season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. EST at The CW. In the meantime, check out the full interview with Valdes below.
