'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date won't happen in 2015

Anticipation for the next "The Elder Scrolls" coming this year dissipated after two rumored titles, "Argonia" and "Redguard," were reportedly debunked.

It seems that the success of the previous "The Elder Scrolls" titles — Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim — led many to look forward to another installment. While one could eventually come out, it certainly will not happen this 2015.

One reason cited for an improbable release is that Bethesda Softworks is still seemingly focused on another game title, "Fallout 4."

Further to that, Bethesda is reportedly assessing the necessary enhancements and improvements that they can do for the game, apparently in line with the game developer's intent to focus more on quality rather than quantity on game title releases.

While Bethesda is allegedly busy working on multiple projects, it doesn't seem to follow that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is on the list. Among the titles they are believed to be working on include "Doom," "Fallout 4," and "Dishonored 2," as well as Mod Tools and downloadable contents (DLCs) plus additional expansions for "The Elder Scrolls Online" and "Battlecry."

So right now, anticipation for an "The Elder Scrolls 6" could very well be shelved for now. The earliest that development of the game could kick off would perhaps only be when Bethesda is done with its "Fallout 4" and DLC releases.

With this in focus, it would be petty to even consider that rumor involving a multiplayer mode allegedly in the works. Multiplayer features could probably make sense down the road once the single player mode is already in the works or better yet, confirmed.

As for the next game title, you can also scratch the "The Elder Scrolls 6: Redguard" notion. While Bethesda does hold the rights to "Redguard," the fact that there is already a game titled "The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard" practically erases it out of the equation.

With a 2015 release out of the picture, the best bet for a sixth installment of the game to come out is perhaps 2016 at the earliest or better yet, 2017.
