The fall finale of crime television series "The Blacklist" season 5 will air on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC, and fans are expecting for the episode to conclude with a cliffhanger with Tom's (Ryan Eggold) life in danger.

In the upcoming eighth episode titled "Ian Garvey," Liz (Megan Boone) is still left in the shadows looking for Tom. A sneak peek for the next episode shows a bloodied Tom, as well as Red (James Spader) engaged in a gunfight.

Last week's episode, titled "The Kilgannon Corporation," put Dembe's (Hisham Tawfiq) life in danger as he infiltrated a big human smuggling organization. The task force took on Colin Kilgannon (Kevin Ryan) who operated a massive smuggling business that illegally transported goods and people to other countries.

Meanwhile, Tom's own investigation about the mysterious briefcase led him to trouble in the hands of a man named Garvey.

Entertainment Weekly praised Dembe's role in the episode and Tawfiq's portrayal of the character. The seventh episode also focused on the relationship between Red and Dembe.

"He [Dembe] is the light in the darkness," Red said.

In the sixth episode, Red urged Tom to stop his investigation because it would only result in danger. Red also knew whose bones were placed in the suitcase. However, Tom was still driven to reveal the identity of the dead person. He told Red, "Whatever secret you're hiding from Liz, it will come out. Family secrets always do."

It had been well established in previous episodes of season 5 that Red has been exerting a lot of effort in keeping the identity of the remains in the suitcase.

After the eighth episode, the series will resume in 2018. There is still no release date announced for the ninth episode "The Blacklist" season 5.
