The midseason finale of "The Blacklist" season 3 brought many fans to the edge of their seats when Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) finally caught Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone). Liz was on the run from the FBI and got separated from Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), who was abducted by thieves. In the end, Liz chose to save Red's life, but the decision ultimately came with a hefty price.

Viewers are certainly eager to find out what's going to happen next, and a promo video has at least managed to keep fans at bay.

The video gives viewers a sneak peek as to what the rest of season 3 has in store. It appears that after being captured by the FBI, Liz's life is in danger. Ressler asserts that he'll be able to keep Liz safe, but Red begs to differ. The Cabal are after her, and if they reach her, that will be the end of the ex-FBI agent turned fugitive.

Episode 9 and 10 will reportedly focus on The Director (David Strathairn) and it seems like the show has been setting everything up throughout season 3 in preparation for this moment.

Executive producer Jon Bokenkamp discussed Liz's capture and eventual danger in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He explained that the FBI are keeping Liz's mouth shut.

"They don't want to be exposed. As much as it's a victory for our task force to capture her, it puts her in almost greater danger. It's a race against the clock for Red to enact whatever his plan is that he's been working on for the last eight episodes. It's time for things to fall together, and that is going to be fun," Bokenkamp said.

Meanwhile, it looks like a not-so-new woman is about to re-enter Red's life come episode 13. According to TVLine, NBC is looking to cast a woman to play Red's old lover, Catherine, who is "beautiful, exotic and sophisticated."

"The Blacklist" season 3 will return on Jan. 7 on NBC.
