While gamers continue to wait for the release of "Tekken 7" on game consoles worldwide, game director Katsuhiro Harada and designer Michael Murray talked about their plans for the fighting video game.

During the Gamescom 2016 in mid-August, the people behind the game talked about the details of the story mode addition that will come out soon.

According the Harada and Murray, the story mode will center on the battle between Heihachi and Kazuya to lead the Mishima Zaibatsu clan. They also teased that the game will come out with new stages, detailed costumes that will match certain story events, as well several flashback scenes that showcases a vivid backstory.

The people behind "Tekken 7" also unveiled the inclusion of Akuma in the game. The "Street Fighter" character will reportedly come with his signature spinning kicks and fireball weapons as he crosses over to the latest installment of the "Tekken" fighting game series.

"There's been collaborations in the past between fighting franchises, but we never really saw a kind of cross over like this – one where you could take so much of your existing knowledge and have it still be effective in the other game. It is a dream collaboration. People weren't expecting it, and were so thrilled to see it happen. He really does fit well into the Tekken environment," Harada said during the annual video game convention, as reported by VG24/7.

Meanwhile, a report from UpLoad VR claimed that the game console edition of "Tekken 7" will be exclusively released on Sony's PlayStation consoles. It will also be developed as a PlayStation VR headset compatible game. But the promo image on Tekken's Facebook page included the logo of Xbox One and Steam. This could mean that the game is also being developed into other game consoles as well.

Bandai Namco has yet to reveal the official release date of "Tekken 7" in consoles around the world, but the game is expected to be released sometime in February 2017.
