"Teen Mom 2" star Leah Messer has been through a lot of challenges lately. Earlier in October, she lost custody of her twins with ex-husband Corey Simms.

According to Us Weekly, Simms was awarded custody on Aug. 24 and on Oct. 7, Messer was officially stripped off primary custody.

Previously, Messer had full custody of five-year-old daughters Ali and Aleeah, with Simms only spending time with them during weekends.

The 23-year-old mother took care of the children most of the time but reportedly brought them to school late.

For this reason, Simms filed for the custody over concerns that the kindergarteners were not showing up at school on time. According to reports, the children were late for school ten times in the months of August and September.

However, Messer thinks that's not the reason why her ex-husband was determined to get their kids away from their mother. The reality TV star is accusing Simms to have another motive — child support.

"I think child support has a lot to do with [his motivations]," Messer said in an interview with Us Weekly magazine, as relayed by RadarOnline.

Messer went on to explain that before losing custody, her ex-husband used to pay her $800 per month.

Now that 25-year-old Simms won primary custody, he will likely be ordered to send out a lesser pay to Messer.

Despite what happened to Messer, she is determined not to go down without a fight. According to The Ashley Reality Roundup, the teen mom posted on Facebook, mentioning about what she can do about her situation.

Her Aug. 24 post in her private account was a more of the Serenity Prayer rather than a rant.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference...and the willingness to take ACTION!" her status said, according to the outlet.

Messer is not active in social media, but according to StarPulse, the teen mom has a Facebook account that is kept hidden from her fans.
