Sora's obvious absence in "Super Smash Bros.," roster despite being hailed as one of the most requested characters in Nintendo's popular crossover fighting game, had been fixed by modders.

"Smash" modders called Nibrock.Rock and KTH came out with a downloadable mod that will allow the protagonist of "Kingdom Hearts" to become a playable character in the fighting game.

In April 2015, BagoGames reported that Sora's name was included in the list of characters that the players mentioned when Nintendo let the fans vote for the characters they want to be featured in a "Super Smash Bros." downloadable content (DLC). According to the report, the character's interesting blend of melee and his wide range of magical tricks could have made him a valuable addition to the video game. However, Bayonetta from Platinum Games topped the poll, which means Sora did not make it to the cut of new characters that came out in the "Super Smash Bros." DLC.

According to GameRant, the modders used Shulk from "Xenoblade Chronicles" as a base, then incorporate Sora's skin so that gamers can start using the popular Keyblade wielder.

While Sora is still unofficially a part of the "Super Smash Bros." roster, several rumors claimed that the character could be included in the next installment of the popular fighting game franchise which will be released as one of the Nintendo NX launch titles.

Meanwhile, Wii U Daily revealed that Nintendo already set the closing date of the "Super Smash Bros." Regular Tourneys on Wii U. According to the report, the Regular Tourneys section will be replaced with a blank space after Sept. 30.

However, the game developer reportedly assured the players that they can continue creating their own tournaments within the game despite the removal of the Regular Tourneys.

"Super Smash Bros." is playable on both the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS consoles since 2014.
