Mike Ross may be spending time behind bars, but he is still feeling a little relief about his situation, according to actor Patrick J. Adams.

Speaking exclusively with Entertainment Weekly during the ATX Television Festival, the actor revealed how Mike was holding up inside the prison cell.

"He's not feeling great. Mike is not very happy to be in prison, obviously," Adams said. "But, there is an element of freedom. He's been holding this secret for five years, and now he gets to move past it."

The actor also said that the upcoming season will pick up at the time when Mike was already reflecting on his wrongdoings and how he would like to move forward from his past.

Adams also revealed that Mike may not be entirely safe in prison.

"A threat sort of comes along, and he's forced into a situation where he needs to start defending himself and coming up with a game plan of how to protect himself over the long haul," he stated. "So, he's activated by having something he needs to do."

In another interview, with ABC News, Adams said that Mike will remain in prison at least until episode 7. According to the actor, they have filmed at least seven episodes of the series, and they still have no idea about what is in store for the plot of the upcoming season.

"We don't know what's happening.... We don't know what's going to happen until we start shooting," the 34-year-old actor stated.

Adams also told E! News that there are a lot of things to look forward to between Mike and Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle). According to the actor, fans will finally find out more about the couple's relationship outside romance. Will they manage to stay together despite Mike's stint behind bars?

"Suits" season 6 will premiere on Wednesday, July 13, on USA Network.
