When "Splatoon" was first introduced, it launched Nintendo as a key player in the competitive-gaming genre. The first game in the series received stellar reviews for being an overall fun and exciting experience. As the game moves forward with "Splatoon 2," Nintendo promises a full sequel with a lot of new content.

"Splatoon 2" will be available on the Nintendo Switch starting July, and new details about the game are coming just days ahead of the Nintendo (Electronic Entertainment Expo Exhibit) on June 13. Among the new features in the sequel are upgraded weapons. According to the official "Splatoon" website, "Ammo Knights" weapons shop owner Sheldon will provide Agent 4 with different types of weapons, including a variant exclusively created to battle the Octarians.

This exchange allows Sheldon to collect data on his weapons, which will be used in mass producing them for use in Turf War battles. This statement has been revving up discussions online. In the original "Splatoon" gameplay, players can only use Hero weapons during offline games. Making them available online opens doors for more customization options.

One of the weapons piquing fans' interest is the speculated Inkopolis version of the P90. Even though the new weapon seems to have some semblance to the P90, such has not been verified yet and it's also possible that the gun is a redesigned version of the Hero Shot available in the offline Hero Mode on "Splatoon."

Other than the P90 tease, "Splatoon 2" producer Hisashi Nogami told Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu (as reported by My Nintendo News) that the game will be a full sequel with more weapons than its predecessor, including Main and Special Weapons combinations as well as updates to Sub Weapons.

The game will also feature new outfits, new battle stages, and special attacks. Dual pistols called "splat dualies" will be available in the game, and can be used as rockets that can propel players across the battlefield.

One feature that completely sets apart "Splatoon 2" from its predecessor is the local multiplayer mode, in which players can face off with other local players in full battles, as opposed to doing it in minigames.
