'Spider-Man' 2017 plot: Captain America and Iron Man to appear?

More juicy details about the highly anticipated "Spider-Man" reboot emerge straight from Tom Holland, who will be taking the web-crawler mantle in a few years' time. While promoting his film "In the Heart of the Sea," which also stars Chris Hemsworth aka the mighty Thor, he revealed some info on the character.

"I think one of the most interesting things about Peter Parker for us is that he's the only person in the MCU now that has a secret identity, so we all know who everyone else is," Holland explained to Superhero Hype. "I think it's quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask," he added.

The 19-year-old actor also revealed that most of the "Spider-Man" film will be shot in Atlanta, which he said is very practical compared to doing it in New York. He, however, added that they will probably shoot in the city for a week or two.

Interestingly, this detail reveals more than just the movie's location. Just recently, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to talk about "Captain America: Civil War," where they play Iron Man and Captain America. The two aren't in good terms in the film.

During the interview, Downey told Evans "By the way, we are going to shoot in Atlanta again, you and I." The Cap's essayer immediately responded saying "I know, I'm ready, I'm ready." This had media outlets speculating that the two superheroes will show up in the "Spider-Man" reboot.

While another Marvel movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is holding its production in Atlanta, Comic Book points out that director James Gunn has already clarified that Peter Quill will be the only human character in the film.

The filmmaker has also already stated Iron Man will not be in the sequel and Captain America gracing the movie becomes very unlikely as well due to Gunn's abovementioned remark. That leaves "Spider-Man" as the only Marvel flick that pair of superheroes will likely appear in.

Whether or not that will really be the case, fans will know as the July 2017 release of the "Spider-Man" reboot closes in.
