'Sniper Elite 4' release date: New screenshots, first game play trailer, pre-order bonuses expected

Sniper Elite 4 will be released on November 1 and pre-order bonus includes the Target Führer campaign mission and the Riffles Skin Pack. Sniper Elite/Rebellion Developments

Developer Rebellion Developments released new screenshots, an exciting first gameplay trailer, pre-order bonuses, and more information for its upcoming game, "Sniper Elite 4." The fourth main installment in the series will be released on February 14, 2017.

A new set of in-game screenshots was recently released to the delight of game fans. These images highlight the picturesque Italian peninsula. The upcoming game's missions will let the players explore not only the rugged and forest regions of the country, but also the Mediterranean coastal towns, and of course, the Nazi mega structures.

Rebellion shows off on its trailer its slow-mo cam and new kill cams, the stealth abilities of a covert agent and elite named marksman Karl Fairburne (the main character of the game), takedowns, and sniping. At the end of the clip, it shows the Target Führer campaign mission, which will be a bonus mission for fans who will pre-order the game. An additional Riffles Skin Pack (Weapons DLC), a highly detailed camouflage covers for all seven starting rifles, will also be included for the early takers.

The bonus campaign is described as: "Tasked with infiltrating a secret U-Boat installation, Lieutenant Karl Fairburne discovers the identity of a visiting dignitary from Berlin. His mission has become ... Target: Führer!"

The developer further describes it as: "Covert agent and elite marksman Karl Fairburne must fight alongside the brave men and women of the Italian Resistance to help free their country from the yoke of Fascism, and defeat a terrifying new threat with the potential to halt the Allied fightback in Europe before it's even begun. If his mission fails, there will be no Operation Overlord, no D-Day landings, and no Victory in Europe."

"Sniper Elite 4" is scheduled to come out on February 14, 2017, and it will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The Standard Edition is available for all platforms for $59.99 while the Deluxe Edition bundled with a season pass is available only via the PlayStation Store for $89.99.
