"Shameless" is expected to return for its eighth season this fall and it is said to pick up from where the previous season left off, after the death of Monica Gallagher (Chloe Webb).

Reports say that the upcoming season may center on how the Gallagher family will cope after Monica's death and what they are going to do with their unique "inheritance." Last season, the viewers were shocked to find out that Monica possessed meth bags worth $70,000, and when she died, all of those automatically got inherited by her family, the Gallaghers. Some spoilers also say that the members of the family, who were previously seen going to different directions after the tragedy, will carry on after Monica's death, and that Frank (William H. Macy) will be having the time of his life, enjoying the fortune his deceased wife left them.

In other news, there are rumors that Sean (Dermot Mulroney), Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) ex-fiancé, may return next season. It can be recalled that their highly-anticipated wedding did not push through before because Frank, Fiona's father, revealed that Sean is not as clean as she thinks, and is just like Frank who is also into drugs. Fiona had to end the relationship and rebuild her life again. However, if Sean does come back next season, many fans think it would be interesting to see how she would react. A lot of the viewers also thought that the two were going to end up together, before the bombshell was dropped on everyone.

Will there be a chance for Fiona and Sean to get back together? Or is she going to meet a new man next season and finally be able to settle down?

The official premiere date for "Shameless" season 8 has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, fans can still watch the show's previous seasons by streaming exclusively on Showtime.
