San Francisco 49ers vs Houston Texans live stream: Watch NFL pre-season football online (Preview)

The San Francisco 49ers will play the Houston Texans on Saturday night as the teams continue to prepare for the new NFL season. With the season drawing closer now, both rosters will be hoping to move another step nearer to being ready to hit the ground running when the 2015-2016 season begins. However, fans can still expect a fair bit of experimentation in today's game. Things will get underway at 8 p.m. ET from the NRG Stadium, and the game can be watched online through live stream via the link below.

The 49ers have easily been the better of the two teams in recent times, with the two last playing on August 28, 2014 when the 49ers won 40-13. Prior to that the pair faced off in October 6, 2013, and on that occasion the 49ers completely shut down the Texans offense to win 34-3.

Whether things will be tighter today remains to be seen but certainly the 49ers are likely to be in the better position and have more optimism for the coming season.

The Texans had a torrid time last season, ranking 31st in offense and 27th in defense in the league. They were terrible on the pass, ranking 31st, and only marginally better on the rush, ranking 26th.

The 49ers meanwhile put on a typically strong defensive display last season, ranking 11th, but they lacked in offense, dropping way back to 27th in the NFL. They will know they relied too heavily on the ground last season, ranking 12th on the rush, compared to a lowly 30th on pass.

That means both of today's teams have a lot of work to do to sort out their weak pass offenses ahead of the new season, and both will want to make sure they prepare fully to add diversity to their armory in offense, while ensuring that their defenses are as tight as possible.

Today's game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Houston Texans has a start time of 8 p.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream by clicking here.
