It's only a matter of time before the Samsung Galaxy A9 makes it into the market and prior to that big moment, massive and detail-rich leaks made the rounds for users to get an exclusive look at the device before it officially comes out.

The leaks reveal that the handset is indeed large, with a 6-inch Super AMOLED display to boast. In a new video, the device was put side by side with the Galaxy A7, which appeared undersized even with its 5.5-inch screen only relatively smaller than that of its sibling.

Notably, in this video, Sam Mobile points out that the user interface is somewhat different from the usual Samsung UI in the sense that its homescreen icons are flatter than what majority of other Samsung current handsets have.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor on board with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space in tow. The handset features a 13-MP rear-facing camera complete with optical image stabilization and an 8-MP front-facing snapper.

Being a sizeable handset, the biggest unit in the refreshed Galaxy A family will pack a huge 4,000-mAh battery to cater to its size and for users to enjoy the smartphone for longer hours. Design-wise, the Galaxy A9 will don a metal frame and dual 2.5D glass panels just like its siblings.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 will feature a fingerprint scanner, which comes in handy for the Samsung Pay support it will offer. For now, it will get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version, since this is also the software it is expected to don although an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is already in the agenda.

Samsung is expected to take the covers off its hulking metal-glass mobile offering this month. It is estimated that it will be available (initially in China) by Christmas or early January. The device is priced at CNY 3,000 or $450.

Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled its 2016 Galaxy A lineup, which included the Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7.
