Roku is a name that's been gaining good reputation when it comes to streaming devices. According to a fresh study from research firm Parks Associates, Apple TV doesn't sound as good as Roku.

Digital Trends reported about last month's study, which found that Roku has taken over Apple when it comes to favorite digital media player, with the latter falling fourth place behind the former.

Furthermore, the report stated that Apple may have failed to entice customers to go for its streaming devices since it slowly revises the hardware and speed of Apple TV, unlike its competitors.

More specifically, the study found that Roku is more favored in U.S. households with over a third of them using the device. Google Chromecast attracts 23 percent of the consumers.

Despite the release of different streaming devices from big names in the tech industry, Roku is standing firm and people are actually anticipating the release of Roku 4, as reported in Master Herald.

Rumors have it that Roku 4 will arrive before the year ends and by the time it does, the company would surely gain a lot of attention if the reports on its possible specs are proven true.

Roku 4 is expected to carry some major improvements in its overall design and Master Herald noted that the device will have changes on both hardware and software components.

The user interface will be improved so it can deliver more superior performance and at the same time allow ease of usage.

WPCTV also reported some of the rumored specs for the upcoming Roku 4. The device is said to have a 4K display resolution, which makes it most likely compatible with a 4K TV.

Furthermore, it was reported that Roku 4 might have a wireless antenna that will bring improved signal, especially for households that have wireless routers placed in a different room from where the TV is.

As for the release date, Roku 4 is expected to arrive sometime this fall, as reports suggest.
