Even with the trendy mesh routers being the top pick for style, performance-wise, the TP-Link Archer C7 (AC1750) still sits at the top for the best wireless dual band gigabit router.

Review site Wirecutter, has tested the wireless router for over 250 hours against 30 other routers. It was not the fastest in the bunch, but what was notable was its performance and amazing range that is very rare for its asking price. The Archer C7 is an inexpensive high-performance Wi-Fi router most users will find very impressive. The combined data transfer rate for this unit scored up to 1.75 Gbps. This translates to seamless HD streaming and smooth online gaming.

The Archer C7 can operate on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands. If a user has multiple bandwidth needs, the two dedicated networks can tap in to the Simultaneous Dual-Ban functions. Users can send emails or browse the web without hiccups because the 2.4GHz band can work at the same time the 5GHz band is processing demanding games like "Overwatch" or "The Division."

With six antennas for fully expanded coverage, even at greater distances, users can rely on constant high speeds. A large home or office will only need one Archer C7 to cover all internet connections. It has three external detachable 5dBi antennas for the 5GHz band and three internal antennas for the 2.4GHz band. Guests can also connect to the Wi-Fi through the separate and secured Guest Network Access.

Standard Ethernet connections are 10 times faster with Archer C7. It has one gigabit WAN port and four gigabit LAN ports. The unit performs like a premium power hub on a price range actual power hubs would not dare touch. Accessing the dual USB ports will allow users to share a local printer easily, as well as files and media with networked devices.

Amazon has currently listed the Archer C7 at $79.99
